calming the F down

Is what I decided I need to do. From now on no more horribly sad posts. It's not helping anything, probably just getting me down further. Plus, there are WAY too many wonderfully awesome things going on in life to be happy about. This morning I busted out the rollerblades and went for a workout. This used to be a great soulsaver for me during 1998, the other big year of turmoil for me. And I put my hair in pigtails which makes me laugh and feel about 20 again. I have 4 days off to enjoy and relax and plan on getting plastered drunk one night.

No more fertility posts either. I can't take it. and need a break from it. We're not "dealing" with it until January. Start the year off with a bang hopefully. har har.

So on that thought here's a list of things that make me happy or are wonderful in my life right now"
• my husband
• my friends

• my dog
• our awesome house that I never want to leave (we'll rent it if we move)
• our awesome garden
• books
• my iPod Shuffle
• gin and red wine, mmmmm and Molson XXX in moderation
• laying out in the sun

• Queen and Coldplay
• my job
• horses
• the fact that the eccentric chic told me I can either a.) keep a horse on her farm (can't afford to buy one right now though ) and b.) I can pretend to adopt one if I like and ride it whenever I want.

• the white fleabit appallousa arabian that I think I'll pick to 'adopt'
• spearmint eucalytpus lotion from B&Body works
• I'm 34 and someone thought I was 24 this week
• this week I told this condesending prick of a designer I have to deal with over the phone, that he IS a condescending prick. f him, I rock.

• I have 4 days off

Ren out.

Hopefully the south will rise again one day

The news coming out of New Orleans is worse and worse. Our company is based in the South, and all the other Art Directors have been swapping mails all day about what's going on. So many people talk about family now living with them, and no idea when they can return home or if they have jobs, let alone houses. Gas of course is now high and getting higher every day. I wonder if it will drop off after Labor Day weekend, but...one of the guys in Baton Rouge said that it could be 6 months before oil production is back to normal. Up to 20 oil riggs are either unaccounted for or washed off their moorings. Produce prices will go up soon, as will every thing, but I think that will hit next after gas. There is news that so many people have fled north to Baton Rouge that now there is looting there.

Here is the link to a site one of the southern AD's just sent around. This guy is holed up in a hi-rise in downtown N.O. trying to keep his company's servers going with a generator. He's taking pics and showing all the looting etc. going on. One thing that is rumored to have happened is that half the NO police force just quit, and some have been seen looting.

They're saying it could be 2-3 months before people can return home. I can't even imagine. I haven't heard much about how to donate for the relief effort. It might be because they don't know where or how to get it to the people who need it yet.
